Things I'm up to:
- I am so loving the BBC show Killing Eve. Not only is the story about a sociopathic assassin addicting, but the clothing (i.e. Burberry, Mui Mui) serious eye candy.
- Vic and I are thinking about our summer vacation 2019. Right now we are seriously contemplating going back to France (maybe the Loire Valley) or doing another Uniworld River Cruise. The kids are itching to go back on a cruise.
- I bought these from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. A bit pricey but the sale made it more affordable.
- Work is intense. Our company just purchased a small insurance agency so the HR matters that pertain to the deal are keeping me and my small team busy in August.
- A photo from Paris close to the Eiffel Tower.

What I Wore To Work

I have been really focusing on trying to incorporate "orphan" items in my closet and create new outfits from the pieces I already have without buying new things. Granted, I have a few gaps in my wardrobe for spring/summer, but overall, I am in pretty good shape with the pieces I have.
I have been asking Sophie to take my photo before we head out the door each morning for school/work. Sophie is doing a pretty good job of the photos all things considered.
Here I am wearing 3 outfits that I put together with existing pieces from my closet (e.g. shop your closet). The brown tweed skirt is from Banana Republic that I got a year and a half ago in NY. It has transitioned nicely to a spring outfit when I wear it with a Halogen cardigan I got from Nordstroms when we were in Anaheim. The belt is from an old dress. The middle outfit is an old CLEO dress that I bought last spring to wear to the HRMA Awards. I have paired it with a jacket that is a few seasons old from Rickis. The last outfit is a two year old camisole paired up with a little sweater shrug from RW and Co and my grey trousers that I bought at Urbana in Penticton a few years ago.

dressing up
It was the final get together of our little clothing party group.
We don't usually have a theme, but tonight the hostess asked us to come in a little black dress (and we'd be having martinis).
Here I am ready to go out and of course Fynn had to get in on the act. Photo by my budding photographer, Sophie

what can you buy for $400?
I joined a clothing club in September. Basically each member (we have 8) contributes $50 each month. One person's name is drawn each month and they win the pot (or $400). I won it last month so I got to do some Boxing Week shopping for new clothes.
I focused on work clothes, since that is where the bulk of my time is spent and I like to invest in some decent things that will last for awhile. I purchased the following:
Mexx cardigan;
Mexx short sleeve sweater;
Mexx top;
Mexx necklance and a bracelet;
Mexx camisole (I like Mexx as it fits me well, lasts and their styles are modern yet not over the top)
Rickis dress pants;
Rickis sweater;
Areosoles pumps (last season) from Shoe Warehouse;
and Franco Sarto mini boots at 40% off.
I hosted the group last night at our house. Vic made some very tasty Caramel Apple Martinis. Yum
