The Weekend Lens

It has been cold around here lately. About -8 degrees or so.

We have some pre-purchased vouchers for lessons for skiing, so I booked Sophie and Fynn into lessons for this morning at Silver. Star. It meant we needed to get up a little earlier than normal for a Saturday, but once we got moving it wasn't too bad. We knew it had been cold up there so we dressed for it.

Sophie was in Trail Blazers (for kids that are skiing green runs and starting to do blues). Fynn was in Eager Elephants which is for kids who "are able to stop with confidence and begin to turn." While the kids were in their lessons Vic and I did a few runs. It was cold however. About -15 and then with the wind chill when you come zipping down the mountain, the temperature drops to about -20 or so.

But with the cold comes nice sunny blue skies, so it was mood lifting to see that. Both kids said they had fun, so I can't ask for too much more than that.

We are having a quiet evening and just enjoying the day.

Looks like fun!
We have always wanted to try skiing, but not a lot of great options around here :)
