holding on to your kids

Tonight our PAC brought in Dr. Gordon Neufeld. His website is here. The schoold gym was packed with parents who wanted to hear words of parenting wisdom and he didn't disappoint.

Some of the points he talked about were intuitive things that we had been doing but maybe didn't have the words for such as bridging (when you tell a child you will see them after school, or "I'll see you in the morning" to ease them to sleep), but others were more challenging, such as how to build a stronger relationship with your child - through attachment - so they don't become attached to peers.

Lots of good information that Vic and I picked up.

I have this book but haven't had a chance to read it. I will have to break it open after my exam. Thanks for the reminder...
