sunday

We planned a trip to Vernon today to do a little more Christmas shopping. Just before we were set to leave, Sophie's friend Cami (actually her mom) called to ask if Sophie wanted to come over for a playdate. So, off we dropped Sophie and she got to spend an afternoon with her friend instead of being bored silly in the stores (in her case boredom turns into a case of "buy me something Mom.")

Fynn got a little extra special attention and Sophie got some friend time. When we went to pick her up at 3pm, naturally she didn't want to come home.

a deal

Vic is over on a guys' bike / road trip to the Halcyon Hot Springs area. I've been doing my best to keep these two entertained today. We hit the playground, had lunch and then wandered over to see if any of the downtown merchants were open. Sunday is not a great shopping day in Salmon Arm.

The Baby Barn (my favourite consignment store) was open and while Fynn and Sophie played with the Thomas the Train set, I found a very close to brand new Please Mum winter jacket for Fynn. For $10.99 I thought that was quite a deal on something that appears to have been worn barely at all. The new Please Mum little boy jackets are about $69.00 according to their website!

this n' that

We took a trip down to Vernon today.

Needed to get a few supplies at Superstore. Even with the price of gas, it's still cheaper to buy some of our groceries there.
We like Motts applesauce for the kids' lunches and we buy them in bulk. The single serving size is very convenient.

I also stopped at Fabric Land and picked up the pattern and supplies for this little costume. Never too early to think about Halloween. Vic wanted Fynn to be the skunk (since he's a stinky little guy), but the problem with that is that I don't think Fynn is aware of what a skunk is. He'd spend all of Halloween having an identity crisis.

Busy day, but just hanging out now.

birks

A store in our town sent out a flyer advertising Birkenstocks and a $10 off coupon.
I have been looking for a good pair of summer sandals. These babies are now mine. My first pair of Birks - and they do live up to their reputation of being very comfortable. I also have some foot issues so I think they are worth it.

a new purse

Today I took Sophie and Fynn to a birthday party in the morning while Vic rode his bike. I told him that I NEEDED some retail therapy after another Saturday birthday (this is weekend #2 of a three weekend marathon of b'day parties for little girls).

We hit Kelowna in the afternoon. I had 2 items to buy:

1. A new pair of Gap jeans. I have not purchased jeans since before Sophie was born. It was TIME. Gap came through for me. I wear them to death, so they are well worth it. I am not someone who has 6 pairs of jeans to rotate through. I usually have 2-3.

2. And, a purse. In all of my work years, I've never had good handbag. One that looked good, yet had some quality behind it and could keep my stuff organized. A friend likes Coach, but I'm not quite ready to spend those kinds of $$$$ yet on a purse. I did take a step over to the quality side when I found this at the Bay.

web finds

I love to window shop on the web.
Some finds that I keep coming back to...

This cute little number for Sophie. I love their kids' clothes. Great quality and they don't shrink.

This for Fynn.

This for me.

One of these for my office.

Some new crafting goodies.

And something to replace our old rug in the dining room.
