After a bout of -20 for about 3 days last week, our normal winter temperatures are back so we decided to head up to Silver Star. Sophie had to work at McDonald's, so it was just the three of us today.
The conditions were great. Christmas Bowl was the most fun in my opinion. A little bit of wind in the Vance Creek runs, but
nothing too bad.

Tired mom
I can almost breathe again. The past month has been crazy as usual. My body, mind and soul feel tired. Work, kids, fitness, hockey, skating, home stuff...the list goes on. The usual Christmas activities have been full on the past couple of weeks. Once my work Christmas party is over, I do tend to relax a bit more as a work party never feels like you can be "off" as I feel that I have to be very much "on."
On a fun note, we had our annual Christmas Crossfit Throwdown fun competition on Saturday. My party Wendy and I had a great time and did fairly well too.
On Sunday, we went to Silver Star for our first ski day of the season.

A well spent weekend
On Friday afternoon, I had a dermatologist appointment in Vernon. To make it a bit of a treat for the kids, we went for dinner after I was finished and then headed over to the bookstore in the mall to browse. I picked up the new Jennifer Egan book.
On Saturday, Vic and I had an Olympic Weightlifting coaching session with Guy Greavette. We have been working with guy since late last summer. This was our fourth time seeing him, and each time we go, we always both feel like we have found his sessions invaluable in correcting our form.
Saturday night, we went to a movie with my work friend Julie and her husband. We saw Ladybird. Great movie!
Today we headed up to Silver Star for our 3rd ski day of the season. It's great to have seasons passes and not have to worry about purchasing lift tickets.

Ski Day #2
Today was the second time that Vic and I made it up to Silver Star and the first time for the kids this season.
Fynn took a lesson and Sophie skied with us for a bit and then her friend Hunter caught up with her and they skied on some trails (the kids like trails much more than I do -- too bumpy and full of trees).
Fynn did great in his lesson in the Snow Rangers level. He was told by his instructor that he can advance up to the Trail Blazers. Fynn can now confidently ride the chairlift safely, control his speed on green runs and ski green runs with independence. He has Sophie's old poles now so in his next lesson he can start using those. Good on Fynn!

Speaking of Fynn - hockey is on a break now for two weeks. He really has enjoyed the season. We watched his game down in Lumby on Saturday. The game was 3-0 for the other team, when Fynn scored a goal! And then he scored again!! I think the goalie wasn't expecting Fynn - he might be smaller, but he's quick.
