yoga

normally on Wednesday's, i go to a group fitness class. it didn't work out with my schedule today, so i went to an evening power yoga class.

i've been working out in some way,shape or form since i was about 18. for a long time it was about trying to reshape my body. lose some down there, add more up top. in the last year or so, i've finally stepped away from that. it's all about being selective with what I eat, working out to feel good (because i still love to break a sweat), working my core so when i'm an old lady of 85 i still have good posture...

that's what's so cool about yoga. it's about feeling good.

a few hours to play

i had a couple hours to play with my supplies on saturday as i went to a friend from daycare's home to scrapbook with some other women. nice time (great food) and I got these two pages done. i LOVE uninterrupted time.

the office

no, not that office (although it is fun to watch once in awhile).

this is my office. where i hang my hat, do my work, etc...

it's cozy, cluttered (hopefully in a good way) and i feel good there. yes, lots of sophie and that is suzanne's blog (not that i would ever blog at work :)

it's 8:50pm as i sit down to type this.
sophie is still up eating some dried prunes and watching the Berenstein Bears. vic is eating dinner as he just got back from swimming.

today:

+ i went to work just before 9am
+ in between - meetings (one dispute between two employees over a "religious" matter), developing a flexible work schedule for another, and a few interviews
+ off work at 5pm ish
+ picked up sophie from daycare
+ got home for a quick bite of dinner (thank you vic for making it ahead of time)
+ took sophie to the library after dinner
+ picked up groceries for tomorrow's dinner (it's my night)
+ went to daycare meeting (i'm a board member) - sophie attended as they have a daycare worker play with them
+ got home, gave sophie her bath, kissed vic hello (he brought me carnations for V'day)
+ i'm typing this now

a first reader

i picked up this book when i got sophie from daycare today.
the daycare is doing a fundraiser and they have a bunch of old books
available by donation. for 1.50 this little treasure is ours.
i read it to her tonight. in true sophie form, she wanted to know who had
scribbled with crayon on the inside cover (some little boy named Gary in 1971 by the
inscription on the inside).

quite a classic.

chinese new year, etc

last night we went to a Chinese New Year party (CNY is Feb 18).

it was fun - chinese pot luck food and a slide show from a couple who had been to China several years ago.

today was not so good. for the past day, i've had this tremendous urge to urinate (sorry if that's TMI), but never feel like i'm "done". plus some other symptoms that were making me miserable.

there are no walk-in clinics open on sunday in Salmon Arm, so we drove to Vernon to go here.

turns out i have a bladder infection. the doctor said that it is amazing i've gone this far in life without getting one. i'm on my second dosage of amoxicillan and starting to feel somewhat better. thank goodness for modern drugs.

vancouver

got back last night from an overnight trip to vancouver for this.
my workplace received an Award of Merit. i'm really proud.
my co-worker and I stayed at this hotel. very nice.

we went to the Bay downtown and found a screaming sale on shoes.
i picked up these for 39.99.

tired, so glad to be home.

i'm back

i've been knee deep in a leadership development workshop for the past two and a half days.

working with this company. the learning was good, but i'm exhausted.

off to Vancouver for work tomorrow. back on Friday.

today we celebrated sophie's birthday with her maternal grandparents, cousin Travis, Auntie Sue and Auntie Joanne.

instead of travelling the long drive to Oliver, we met about half way and had lunch here.

she got some fun gifts. i took a photo of her tonight as we set up the family room set of these.

later we stopped at Chapters and I picked up the newest selection for my book club (my pic). a tiring but very nice day.

it's your birthday

today we celebrated sophie's 3rd birthday.

it actually is this coming Monday, but we wanted to take her and her daycare buddies (8 of them)to Junglemania and it is closed on mondays.

i went up there on my break - they were having LOADS of fun.

then back to work. then back again at 2:30pm for cake and gift opening.

i can't say enough good things about her daycare providers. these women are the BEST. they make my life so much smoother and they provide a wonderful environment for sophie.

this place looks like my kind of place
